We already have a winner o the Singapore Airlines plane ticket draw! She is Francisca Sevilla, who will fly for free to India, the country of the Audience Award winner film, Om Shanti Om. The Audience Award, obtained with the votes of the audience who has chosen its favorite movie between all those of the Official section and AS, has gone to the Indian movie Om Shanti Om of the director Farah Khan (India, 2007), a great musical spectacle led by Shahrukh Khan. Closely together, Breath of Kim-ki Duk and Foster Child of Brilliant Mendoza. Singapore Airlines, sponsor of the prize of the public, has given away a trip to the country of the winning movie, in this case to the India!
BAFF 2009 - 11 FESTIVAL OF ASIAN CINEMA OF BARCELONA will be held between April 30 and May 9 and the invited country will be Japan.

Yesterday were announced the prizes of BAFF 2008. With two more to decide the audience award, the jury of BAFF awarded the prize Cinematk (that will suppose the distribution in Spain of the winning movie) to Secret Sunshine of Lee Chang-dong (South Korea, 2007). Attention: this film has another screening in the last day of the festival.
The prize Golden Durian has been granted to the emergent director With to Girl of Black Soil of Jeon Soo-il (South Korea, 2007).
To last the D-cinema prize has gone to the Chinese film Bamboo Shoots of Jian Yi (China, 2007).

The prizes ceremony of BAFF 2008 is being held this evening at Espacio Movistar. After the small ceremony, Johnnie To will presenting the movie Sparrow (Hong Kong, 2007). From 20:30 with free admission up to completing the appraisal.

BAFF receives today the awaited visit of Adolfo Alix Jr. that will be presenting the pass of his movie Tambolista ,in the Oficial Section, but partof a cinematography that this year is very present in the festival.

Director Shinji Aoyama will be presenting his new movie Sad Vacation (Japan, 2007), led by Tadanobu Asano and Joe Odagiri. After the projection a Q&A with the public will be held.

In spite of the information appeared in the hand program that you can find in the venues of the festival, the traditional BAFF inauguration party in Drassanes of Barcelona has been suspended unilaterally by the concessionary that has the license of exploitation of the bar of the Museu Marítim. We are really sorry ... but did everything possible to save it...
